Constructing a High Tower

Sophie had a good time at the Construction Area today.  With the Duplo pieces, she constructed different tall structures.  When I asked what she was making, she said "tower!".  I then asked, "Is it a high tower?"; and Sophie said "High tower!".  Afterwards, Sophie got a Lego sheep piece and put it on top of her tower.  Whilst doing this, she said "Put, put, put!".  Great work Sophie!

On the slide

Sophie was confident to climb on the slide at the Fundino playground. It was the first time she tried on it. She held onto two climbing holds and stepped on them as well to gain balance. She moved forward carefully with much independence.

Building interstars

Sophie played with interstars on the carpet. She looked at some animal photos and chose a photo of a mouse to make.
Sophie:   What is it? (VN)
Ms Tam: It's a  mouse.
She looked for some interstar pieces to make a mouse. She also made its sound " Squeak...squeak.."

Malleable area

Sophie enjoyed playing with the floam and stamps in the malleable area. She took some floam and put it in a flower cutter, then she used the stamp to press it. She demonstrated her improving hand-eye coordination throughout the activity.

Sand play

Sophie stayed for a long time in the sandpit. She used  a mould to scoop sand and fill the containers. She also helped her friend to do the same thing.

Calculator

Sophie chose the calculator from the continuous provisions in the Investigation Area. She joined me and Linh Lan in the Mathematics table and started pressing the numbers on the calculator. She then recited numbers 1-10 whilst pressing random numbers.

Quack quack!

Sophie took a scarf and asked Ms Clarissa to help her put it on her head. Ms Precious saw her and said ""quack quack!"! Sophie then copied Ms Precious and started making a quacking sound! What a lovely duck! :)
